It's been a while between drinks!

There's a certain naive romance associated with resisting the establishment (in whatever form that may be), but sooner or later you must take stock of your efforts.

What's needed now is more than just chasing headlines, which I am guilty of. It's glaringly obvious that it doesn't seem to matter that society's problems are staring people in the face. Humanity has perfected escapism, breeding endless apathy through the daily distractions we are willingly fed.

We need to look beyond the diversions, beyond the superficial headlines and recognise the true motives of those that wield power. It's occurring all around us, the transformation of life into something unrecognisable, it's time to stop running away from our responsibilities and stand up against those who would remove our rights and freedom.

We have been led down the wrong path for far too long.

Bush: Ten months to go...

Ten months to go.

Ten months until we are free of Bush and his cohorts. But can the world wait that long?

Everyday America edges closer to an impending war with Iran, and with ten months remaining, are we actually looking at a timeline to war? It would be hard to think otherwise when you read an article in which Bush 'refused to rule out using force... fuelling worries that he will attack Iran ...before leaving office.'

That's assuming of course that he will leave office. By declaring martial law, Bush and his administration could potentially hold power indefinitely. All they need now is a new 9/11...

Perhaps since America is so determined to attack Iran, we should 'pre-emptively' protest, or should I say 'preventatively' protest?

COG - Sharing Space, first thoughts...

COG's Sharing Space represents everything this blog was created for, it is the soundtrack for every hope I have of change.

The insightful lyrics of tracks such as 'No Other Way' and 'Problem Reaction Solution' have the power to open peoples minds, to question the world in which we live and to reject the authoritarian system that has been forced upon us.

'At the end of the day I know, that we work all our lives to pay for a cage they own. It ain't no coincidence that the whole world is caught in an endless debt. The violent illusion they're using to rule us, building their Babylon' ~ Problem Reaction Solution

For every subversive album that is released the road is being paved for people to fight back. Music is universal, it has no barriers and no restrictions, the message is therefore universal.

I truly thank Cog for recording such a thought provoking album.

Walking Contradiction

I seem to be at odds with myself. I oppose the capitalist system that I'm a part of everyday I wake up and go to work. A system that puts a price tag on everything and worse, everyone. A price tag that looms over our heads that is based on an estimate of your value, your perceived worth as a person. When money is worth more than life and freedom does anyone else see that as a major problem?

We're indoctrinated into this capitalist system from birth and we just accept this everyday. It's hard to change when everything you have is invested in something, of course it's hard. You can't help but feel what choice do you have?

But everyday all we seem to do is further someone else's ends. We're fed diversions and given distractions, told to shut up and not question why the people doing the least work reap all the rewards in life, when without the people on the bottom there would be nothing. Just keep spending your money on material bullshit and don't question, don't question why the gap between the rich and poor grows perpetually. How do the bourgeois sleep at night knowing the uneven distribution of wealth robs people across the world of the bare necessities of life?

People delude themselves that casting a vote every few years ensures that the politicians and governments elected won't allow this to happen, that we'll all be given a 'fair go'. Elections are irrelevant when opposing political parties are just variations of the same thing, any apparent differences are only skin deep. Does your vote means something? Do politicians care about you? Will they protect you? It's the lobbyists they listen to, the representatives of the rich and powerful from every industry. Politicians follow their own agendas and quickly forget that they are accountable to the people.

Whatever happened to equality? We live in a world where no-one is born equal. Will we work our entire lives just to die with little more than we started with just to line the pockets of the few? Are we resigned to our fate as mere worker bees within the hive?

When will people realise that the power to change the future comes from our ability to unite and say that this is not the way things have to be!

Al-Qaeda grooming 'western' militants - LOL

CIA director Michael Hayden said today al-Qaeda was training operatives who "look western" and could enter the United States undetected to conduct terrorist attacks.

Give me a break, are they seriously expecting us to swallow this thinly veiled fear mongering?

The article goes on to state -

"They are bringing operatives into that region for training - operatives that, a phrase I would use, wouldn't attract your attention if they were going through the customs line at Dulles (airport near Washington DC) with you," Gen Hayden told NBC television.

Does anyone else read this as blatant racism? But wait there's more...

The new recruits "look western" and "would be able to come into this country ... without attracting the kind of attention that others might", he said.

Jesus Christ! Are you saying anyone of us could be a terrorist?! What a joke, don't waste our time with this diversionary trash.

This only accomplishes the continuation of racial stereotypes that make people fear and hate one another. Here's an idea, why don't we embrace our differences?

Nice try media whores, but I'm not buying it.

Back to Earth

So, a magazine company pays 'Brangelina' $8 million to print photos of their baby... Celebrity Fix
...that's $8,000,000 for a couple of happy snaps!

Sure, this is nothing new and in their position I'd accept it too. Yes they are most likely donating it to charity... BUT... the publishers are obviously making $millions more from printing these pictures... and why... because million's of people are lapping this shit up, buying things they don't need.

Guess what? Hundreds of Thousands of babies are born every day. What is the attraction in this particular baby? Who are 'Brangelina'? Let me burst your little bubble and remind you that they are a couple of humans with the same make up as you and I, who you have never personally connected with... surprise!

What is it that attracts the masses to celebrity figures so addictively? Making celebrities out of people reinforces a separation complex to make you feel inferior, making them appear as some sort of higher existence, yet at the end of the day they are 2 out of 6,600,000,000 people who act and have a big driveway.

Why don't you go visit and connect with a real human, instead of something you have been fed through the mass media outside of your own, physical realm...

Such Contempt for Life

Dick Cheney, needing little introduction as an evil warmonger, when interviewed last week was almost astoundingly frank when questioned regarding the two thirds of the American public that oppose America's continuing occupation of Iraq.

Was there ever any doubt of America's true intentions in the Middle East with Carl Schmitt and Leo Strauss indoctrinated vile like Cheney pulling the strings?

Someone should do this world a favour and put a fucking bullet in his head!

FOX Attacks

Watch the video below, sound familiar?

Once again FOX and the mainstream media push the propaganda wagon. This of course is necessary to get away with invading other countries without real justification, only to further agendas of greed and control.

The scary thing is how many people base their opinions and decisions on this brainwashing.

Let's take down the fuckin networks!!

No link between Saddam and Al-Qaeda: Pentagon study

Finally the Pentagon has put to paper what the rest of the world already knew, that there was no link between Saddam Hussein and Al-Qaeda.

I'll be looking forward to seeing the full report when it is transcribed and posted on to the internet. The American Government attempted to suppress its release by making it available only by request and by mail.

So much for America's pathetic justification for their invasion of Iraq!

COG @ The Middle

There's nothing like watching a great band perform live and having seen COG play once before I was thrilled to see them again. They didn't disappoint, rocking a packed crowd!

COG's music is often political, with lyrics that carry a message of change, of not just accepting that life has to be this way. Singer and guitarist Flynn Gower summed this up perfectly before they played their song 'What If' from the soon to be released album 'Sharing Space'. He said "people accept that there is only one option in life, when there are infinite possibilities" and that 'What If' "explored some of those possibilities".

"What if in the future people just decided, no more leaders fighting to control us"

Great gig guys.

Big thanks to Charlyn for the photo.

Can you hear the war drums?

When US Central Command's Chief Commanding Officer resigns due to disagreements with the White house over middle eastern policy namely in Iran, I start to worry.

An Esquire magazine article which reportedly led to the resignation of Admiral William Fallon states:

'Just as Fallon took over Centcom last spring, the White House was putting itself on a war footing with Iran. Almost instantly, Fallon began to calmly push back against what he saw as an ill-advised action. Over the course of 2007, Fallon's statements in the press grew increasingly dismissive of the possibility of war, creating serious friction with the White House.'

'...well-placed observers now say that it will come as no surprise if Fallon is relieved of his command before his time is up next spring, maybe as early as this summer, in favor of a commander the White House considers to be more pliable.'

'If that were to happen, it may well mean that the president and vice-president intend to take military action against Iran before the end of this year and don't want a commander standing in their way.'

We cannot allow America's 'Imperial Grand Strategy' to continue via it's 'preventive' war policy. If America pursues war with Iran, I for one will be on the streets and at the American Embassy protesting America's continued disregard for international law and warmongering to suit its own ends.

The war drums are faint now, but their rhythm and speed grows. Will you question what you are told when the push for war comes?

Will you be there with me?

I've got an idea, let's destroy people's relationships!

I can see the boardroom now, writers and producers sitting around pitching new TV shows to shadowy marketing types....

"I've got an idea, lets create a game show where we put contestants through a lie detector test! We'll drag out their deepest darkest secrets, put them in front of an audience and force them to confess! If they don't they'll miss out on winning a wad of cash. It'll be like dangling a carrot in front of a donkey, they'll have to humiliate themselves and their loved ones to win!"

Amazingly enough, that's exactly what we're about to see on our TVs with Channel Nine's Moment of Truth.

Fantastic, let's turn people against each other shall we? Let's destroy relationships for the sake of it, the FUN of it! What sort of soulless person would think this up let alone become a contestant? Will the money be worth it when your wife finds out you're a sexual deviant? Is money more important than a bit of fucking self respect?

Is this all they can come up with?

Another day, another distraction. Well at least it's not Gladiators.....
.....hold on wait a second, you're kidding right? They're not bringing that back!

It has already begun, RFID implants are here

The fight for the freedom of mankind has begun. The propaganda machine is gearing up to convince the world and it's people that we should be branded like cattle with the introduction of RFID (radio frequency identification) implants. Technology that has already been introduced into most products including passports is now being touted as a 'convenience' in everyday life. In reality with development, it will allow tabs to be kept on every part of a person's life. From spending habits and banking to tracking your whereabouts and movements globally. Imagine the previous Government's proposed 'Australia Card' on steroids!

Don't believe the 'feel good' stories that you're going to be seeing a lot more of. They will use their media lap dogs to push their propaganda down your throats and if they succeed, people will be lining up to be the first to have it voluntarily implanted!

Iran's President tells America to go home

This morning I read an article on Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Iraq, during which he said:

"We believe that the forces that came from overseas and travelled thousands of kilometres to reach here must leave the region and must let the people of this country rule themselves."

"If they claim they want to spend their money developing the people of these countries, they'd be better off spending the money on their own countries."

Good call.

Noam Chomsky is LEFT

As mentioned, I had to choose my next book whilst shopping yesterday. I picked up Noam Chomsky's Hegemony or Survival and upon arriving to work today I thought I'd share my latest acquisition with a co-worker. "Looks interesting, but just take everything he says with a grain of salt. He's on the Left" he said disapprovingly.

He's on the Left? He's on the Left! No shit asshole, I'M ON THE LEFT!

He told me that he had never read any of his books and was against the Left in general (an opinion he is more than entitled to). But it just had me wondering where and how he had formed this perception of Left ideas? Is it simply the influence of our parents? Or are teachers indoctrinating children against the Left?

I'm starting to explore where I fit in to the spectrum of political ideas and what I now realise is my whole life we are made to fear and ridicule the Left. We are always offered the same example of its failure, Communism. So does that mean there is nothing of value remaining?

So far, it seems far from it.

U.S.S. New York - You've got to be kidding me!

When will Americans get their hand off it and stop collectively masturbating over the flag?

Having been given the heads up, I watched a news piece relating to the construction of a warship (the first of three) using recycled steel from the world trade centre buildings. A WARSHIP! So let me get this straight, planes fly into and destroy (dubiously) the world trade centre buildings killing over two and a half thousand people and from the wreckage of that tragic event they build tools of warfare!

http://www.abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=4365449&page=1

The Secretary of the Navy Gordon England said "This new class of ships will project American power to the far corners of the Earth and support the cause of freedom well into the 21st century. From the war for independence through the war on terrorism, which we wage today, the courage and heroism of the people of New York has been an inspiration. USS New York will play an important role in our Navy's future and will be a fitting tribute to the people of the Empire State."

What a fitting tribute to the innocent people that died that day. The families can rest assured we will remember those victims as America shoves its agenda down our throats!

Thanks J for bringing this to my attention.

Sooner or later I'm going to need a bigger bookcase

So I'm heading out to buy a book this afternoon and I'm wondering what to pickup. In an ever expanding list of books to read I'm finding it difficult to choose.

I think I'm either going to pickup Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism or Noam Chomsky's Hegemony Or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance.

Which ever I buy, I can't wait to sit down and start absorbing.

The Lucifer Effect: Understanding How Good People Turn Evil

Whilst trawling through the usual distractions found on the Internet I came across an article that quoted a Professor Zimbardo of Stanford University as saying "If you give people power without oversight it is a formula for abuse''. Having just finished re-reading Nineteen Eighty-Four, it made me think of the 'Ministry of Love' (Part 3, Section 2) and the 'waxen faced' officers.

I thought the link to Professor Zimbardo's site would be worth sharing and the book a worth while read.

'The federal Government has endorsed a campaign by lawyers around the world to close the US prison for alleged terrorists at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.'

A change in Australia's Government has finally brought some backbone on the subject of America's illegal Guantanamo Bay prison. It's long overdue that the Australian Government started representing its peoples stand point internationally rather than just 'towing the line' of America. It's a welcome change, hopefully the first of many. Enough is enough.

Popping the proverbial cherry

Well this is it, my first foray into blogging. I guess I should give a reason as to why now? Because I feel the time is right to start voicing some of my ideas and opinions on the world I live in. Simple enough right? We'll see.

I am going to use this blog to clarify my views and strengthen my resolve for change. I want to voice my opposition and I feel empowered where others would feel oppressed to stand up against what I feel is wrong with society.

Most importantly, I'd like to use it as an opportunity to find people that share common views and objectives.

It begins here, lets see how far it can go.
