'He was a lonely ghost uttering a truth that nobody would ever hear. But so long as he uttered it, in some obscure way the continuity was not broken. It was not by making yourself heard but by staying sane that you carried on the human heritage.'

Bush: Ten months to go...

Ten months to go.

Ten months until we are free of Bush and his cohorts. But can the world wait that long?

Everyday America edges closer to an impending war with Iran, and with ten months remaining, are we actually looking at a timeline to war? It would be hard to think otherwise when you read an article in which Bush 'refused to rule out using force... fuelling worries that he will attack Iran ...before leaving office.'

That's assuming of course that he will leave office. By declaring martial law, Bush and his administration could potentially hold power indefinitely. All they need now is a new 9/11...

Perhaps since America is so determined to attack Iran, we should 'pre-emptively' protest, or should I say 'preventatively' protest?

COG - Sharing Space, first thoughts...

COG's Sharing Space represents everything this blog was created for, it is the soundtrack for every hope I have of change.

The insightful lyrics of tracks such as 'No Other Way' and 'Problem Reaction Solution' have the power to open peoples minds, to question the world in which we live and to reject the authoritarian system that has been forced upon us.

'At the end of the day I know, that we work all our lives to pay for a cage they own. It ain't no coincidence that the whole world is caught in an endless debt. The violent illusion they're using to rule us, building their Babylon' ~ Problem Reaction Solution

For every subversive album that is released the road is being paved for people to fight back. Music is universal, it has no barriers and no restrictions, the message is therefore universal.

I truly thank Cog for recording such a thought provoking album.

Walking Contradiction

I seem to be at odds with myself. I oppose the capitalist system that I'm a part of everyday I wake up and go to work. A system that puts a price tag on everything and worse, everyone. A price tag that looms over our heads that is based on an estimate of your value, your perceived worth as a person. When money is worth more than life and freedom does anyone else see that as a major problem?

We're indoctrinated into this capitalist system from birth and we just accept this everyday. It's hard to change when everything you have is invested in something, of course it's hard. You can't help but feel what choice do you have?

But everyday all we seem to do is further someone else's ends. We're fed diversions and given distractions, told to shut up and not question why the people doing the least work reap all the rewards in life, when without the people on the bottom there would be nothing. Just keep spending your money on material bullshit and don't question, don't question why the gap between the rich and poor grows perpetually. How do the bourgeois sleep at night knowing the uneven distribution of wealth robs people across the world of the bare necessities of life?

People delude themselves that casting a vote every few years ensures that the politicians and governments elected won't allow this to happen, that we'll all be given a 'fair go'. Elections are irrelevant when opposing political parties are just variations of the same thing, any apparent differences are only skin deep. Does your vote means something? Do politicians care about you? Will they protect you? It's the lobbyists they listen to, the representatives of the rich and powerful from every industry. Politicians follow their own agendas and quickly forget that they are accountable to the people.

Whatever happened to equality? We live in a world where no-one is born equal. Will we work our entire lives just to die with little more than we started with just to line the pockets of the few? Are we resigned to our fate as mere worker bees within the hive?

When will people realise that the power to change the future comes from our ability to unite and say that this is not the way things have to be!

Imagine...

"Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too"

Al-Qaeda grooming 'western' militants - LOL

CIA director Michael Hayden said today al-Qaeda was training operatives who "look western" and could enter the United States undetected to conduct terrorist attacks.

Give me a break, are they seriously expecting us to swallow this thinly veiled fear mongering?

The article goes on to state -

"They are bringing operatives into that region for training - operatives that, a phrase I would use, wouldn't attract your attention if they were going through the customs line at Dulles (airport near Washington DC) with you," Gen Hayden told NBC television.

Does anyone else read this as blatant racism? But wait there's more...

The new recruits "look western" and "would be able to come into this country ... without attracting the kind of attention that others might", he said.

Jesus Christ! Are you saying anyone of us could be a terrorist?! What a joke, don't waste our time with this diversionary trash.

This only accomplishes the continuation of racial stereotypes that make people fear and hate one another. Here's an idea, why don't we embrace our differences?

Nice try media whores, but I'm not buying it.
